Participants in OfA parent and family workshops are exposed to a variety of topics and activities in a fun, interactive way that enhances the participant experience. Each session is composed of the following essential components: Ice breaker, Content Discussion, Individual/Group - Oriented Work or Activity, and Informational Resources and Handout. OfA’s goal through these workshops is to offer at-home parental support not only in areas that impact academics, such as literacy, but also in subjects such as the arts (visual art, dance, drama, music, and media arts), personal/family development, and community empowerment. The following are workshops that can be offered virtually or in person:
Other Offerings: OfA can also offer workshops tailored to specific school, parent, family, or student needs. For an additional cost, professional translators are available, if needed. For further information, pricing, or to book a workshop, please contact us at services@ofaed.org or call us at 312-624-8509. (OfA is a CPS approved vendor).
Launched in 2022, OfA now provides music and arts classes to parents. Our first Parent Rondalla Music Ensemble began in March and is now serving 15 parents at Hernandez Middle School. Under the instruction of a veteran teaching artist and practicing guitar professional, parents learn how to play basic guitar, and will ultimately perform for the Hernandez community in June. For further information, please contact us at services@ofaed.org or call us at 312-624-8509. (OfA is a CPS approved vendor).
